Are you a Graduate?
We are pleased to introduce Tom Ferrington, who has recently joined our team here at Bridgewater Resources UK. Tom is our newest Consultant within the Professionals division and is currently working through the Bridgewater Training Academy, our intensive training programme.
He has already started recruiting for various vacancies and has been out of the office alongside our Senior Consultants to meet some of our candidates face-to-face.
We caught up with Tom after his 4th week of training to see how he’s getting on.
How are you finding the role and working at Bridgewater so far?
It’s great, I’m learning so much and have been kept busy so I find that the days just fly by. I haven’t worked in recruitment before, so it’s really interesting to be finding out about a new industry and seeing how my skill-set can be transferred. So far, I’ve found working with Bridgewater exciting and really enjoyable.
What’s been your favourite part of the role so far?
I’m really loving ‘Cake Monday’! But the main thing for me is that I’m being kept on my feet. I also like the fact that I can get out and about as part of the interview process: I’ve already been out with a Senior Recruitment Consultant twice and it was interesting to meet with candidates face-to-face.
What are you looking forward to?
Learning more and completing my training so I can start to really get stuck into things. I’m also really excited to take ownership of the recruitment process from start to finish. I’ll be very proud when I make my first placement.
How have you found the training?
Brilliant, the programme is very adaptable to each individual. I’ve learned a lot in a very short space of time, but I still feel like I have done it at my own pace. A lot of learning is really practical too, which is much better suited to me than the training I have undergone in previous roles. I’ve been given responsibility right from the start and I learn something new every day.
Here’s some fun facts about Tom
Tom’s signature dish is his ‘Triple Decker Butty’ – a monster bacon sandwich with egg and hot sauce!
His last holiday saw him travel around South East Asia, but his favourite part was visiting The Gili Islands, where you have to get around by horse and cart.
Football and motorbikes are his hobbies (that is actually him!)
Tom would love to own a Classic Mini Cooper.
Welcome to the team, Tom!
