Our Graduate Opportunities: Your Fast-Track to Success

As final exams and graduation quickly approach, it’s that time of year again; many soon-to-be graduates are on the hunt for what may be their first professional role and are hoping to take the first step onto their career path.

With so many different graduate opportunities available, it’s difficult to know where to start. Once you can identify the differences between graduate jobs and graduate schemes, you’ll need to decide which route you’d like to pursue. At Bridgewater, we speak to hundreds of high-calibre and ambitious graduates throughout the year, and many of those that we have placed with our clients tell us that they found going straight into a graduate job to be exciting, rewarding and full of real opportunities to progress.

We’re extremely passionate about the graduate opportunities we offer, as we understand not only the importance of finding the right person for the job, but also how essential it is to find the right job for the person. Getting out into the world of work can be a daunting task, but once you find a role that is worth pursuing, things will fall into place.

We currently have Graduate Trainee roles available throughout the UK and we’re looking for graduates who are hungry for success to fill them.

Although we may be ever so slightly biased, we firmly believe that our graduate roles are hard to beat, but we want you to make up your own mind. Here’s everything you need to know:

What are we looking for?

We want the best. Do you have what it takes?

We are looking for driven and enthusiastic graduates who aren’t just ‘looking for a job’ but for a rewarding long-term career. Not a 2016 graduate? That’s not a problem, you don’t have to be fresh out of University; if you graduated within the last few years and have gained some valuable work or travel experience, we’d love to hear from you!

You need to be confident and ready to work hard in a professional, fast-paced business environment and have aspirations to work your way up through the ranks.

Strong communication skills, the ability to build relationships and the capacity to learn quickly are all attributes we prize in our graduates. If you have some experience working in either a customer service or sales environment, that is definitely a bonus but don’t worry if it’s limited, the training you will receive will be second to none, should you get the job.

Our clients

As passionate recruiters, we maintain great working relationships with all of our clients and they share our passion for exceptional candidates. They want to find graduates who will grow with their business and they pride themselves on how they nurture graduate talent with bespoke, in-depth training and continuous ongoing support.

Their industries are all fast-paced, exciting and vary from businesses within electrical wholesale, to metal distribution and high-end appliance distribution to name but a few. Our clients are all market leaders in their sectors and are expanding rapidly, meaning that the scope for quick progression is huge.

We have been working closely with our clients for a number of years, so we have really gotten to know them; we know everything from what they’re looking for in an employee to which football team the Managing Director supports. This means that we can completely support graduates throughout the recruitment process and do everything possible to help them get that job!

What’s in it for you?

If a rewarding job, highly probable promotions and excellent training weren’t enough to entice you, our clients offer amazing packages to their Graduate Trainees.

The salaries are always competitive and can be negotiable depending on your level of skill and experience. These are supplemented by an uncapped, annual bonus that is dependent on how hard you work and how well the business is doing as a whole.

Many of our clients also offer other benefits either before or after the completion of the training period, these can include: a mobile phone, laptop, company car and salary increases.

The role

A large proportion of our Graduate Trainee roles are within Management and Sales (or Business and Sales). Sales jobs have been given a bad reputation over the years but don’t be put off! The opportunities we represent are great business-to-business commercial roles. You will establish strong relationships with existing and new clients. You will also be given the opportunity to work in many different areas of the business; many of our successful candidates have spent time working in the Administration, Buying, Marketing and Customer Service departments on top of their comprehensive sales training.

For those of you who are competitive and really enthusiastic about sales, keep an eye out for our Fast Track positions that could see you out on the road meeting clients in a matter of weeks.

If the above opportunities are not for you, take a look at our Graduates Portal to see if we have any other graduate opportunities available; we have recruited for a variety of roles such as Accounts, Administration, Design, IT Analysis and Marketing.

So what are you waiting for? All of our available roles can be found in the Graduates section of our website. We look forward to receiving your application!
