A market-leading manufacturer and distributor of electrical products is looking for an ambitious and analytical Commercial Business Analyst to join their successful team in Luton.

The company you’ll be joining has a strong reputation in their market and its products are specified and installed in several prestigious projects and developments globally and nationwide, including Wembley Stadium, Dubai Airport and the London Underground. They are one of the largest suppliers of electrical accessories and exports to Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Caribbean and belong to a major UK group of specialist distributors who have an impressive turnover exceeding £900 million and a proven track record of developing graduate talent.

Role Responsibilities

As a Commercial Business Analyst, your responsibilities will include:

  • Playing a lead role in the management of the company’s commercial offering including the pricing and commercial agreements it enters in to with its partners.
  • Working closely with the Product Management function in the review, calculation, implementation and communication of the pricing of new and existing products by reference to competitor activity, market positioning and movements in the company’s cost base.
  • Undertaking commercial analysis and providing stakeholders with direction and recommendations on the right commercial decisions for the business.
  • Providing commercial support to new business tenders and the activity of the external and internal sales teams.
  • Monitoring, reporting and commentating on sales and margin performance monthly by reference to the agreed sales forecast.
  • Maintaining an awareness of market / competitor activity (product, price, promotions, etc.).
  • Identifying and delivering promotional opportunities to drive incremental sales and margin.
  • Working closely with marketing colleagues in generating appropriate collateral to support promotions, product launches and the ongoing activity of the sales team.
  • Working closely with the Business Systems team and the customer base to ensure systems are maintained and accurate with product and pricing data.

Rewards Package

As a Commercial Business Analyst, you’ll receive:

  • A starting salary between £28,000 – £33,000 (depending on experience)
  • Your share of the company’s profits in the form of an uncapped bonus
  • Hybrid working options available
  • Working hours are Monday-Friday 8.30-17.00

Requirements

To be successful in this Commercial Business Analyst role, we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a commercial role
  • Educated to degree level ideally in a relevant business discipline (e.g. Business Studies, Business Management, Finance, Economics)
  • A strong commercial acumen and entrepreneurial approach
  • Strong analytical skills with a thorough and accurate approach to work
  • Computer literate with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage well with multiple stakeholders and business functions
  • Drive, ambition, and enthusiasm to deliver results and progress within the organisation
