Buyer – Electrical Distribution

Are you experienced in the electrical wholesale industry and looking for a new challenge? This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a Buyer role with a major national super distributor. No prior buying experience is required-just strong relationship-building skills and a commercial mindset.

Role Responsibilities

You’ll be joining a leading national distributor of electrical products belonging to a global group of companies who employ over 1,700 people throughout the UK. With year-on-year growth, they are a long-established business with a fantastic reputation and are a key supplier to the UK electrical wholesale market. Their clients include contractors, national wholesalers, the NHS, the student accommodation market and the Ministry of Justice. They have strong and long-held relationships with all leading manufacturers and suppliers within the electrical distribution industry.

As a Buyer, you will:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers
• Act as the primary point of contact for supplier negotiations
• Attend 2-5 supplier meetings per week at the branch
• Ensure the best pricing and supply terms for the business
• Support the internal sales team where needed

Rewards

• Competitive salary of £32,000 – £35,000 with OTE of around £40,000

• Normal working hours are 8.00am to 5.30pm, Monday-Friday (please note, some flexibility can be offered with the working hours should a slightly earlier or later start/finish be required)

Requirements

To be successful in this Buyer role, you should have:

• Experience in the electrical wholesale industry (preferred)
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
• Confidence in dealing with suppliers and securing the best deals
• A proactive and commercially aware approach
