It’s National Walking Month and Walk to Work Week, the perfect excuse to ditch your stuffy car for the great outdoors and enjoy the many health benefits of walking everyday. Being in better shape and clearing your busy mind are just two great benefits that walking for 20 minutes every day can provide.
Walking even a small part of your daily work commute would make a huge difference to your health and mindset, the environment and also the economy that forks out billions of pounds every year as a result of traffic accidents. So what can you do to get involved this month?
Here at Bridgewater we are encouraging our whole team to get involved and will be escaping the office this lunchtime for a lengthy and rejuvenating walk. This is also in preparation for a Mount Snowdon hike that we will be taking part in on Friday 22nd May in aid of Cancer Research UK. If you’d like to support us in this challenge please visit our Just Giving page.
We’re hoping that with all this walking we’ll be feeling the benefits of a healthier lifestyle both in and outside of work. With walking considered to improve your mood, release stress and clear your mind, we plan on power walking our way to success!
National Walking Month was launched by Living Streets, who encourage people to travel on foot for the benefit of all and the environment.
